AppleCare+ owners pay a RM469 service fee for that same inner screen.

Two hands each hold an iPhone Duo: the closed one on the left shows the smaller outer display, with a photograph looking down a spiral staircase, a round front-camera opening at the top right and the other half folded back and visible along its left side; the open one on the right is one larger portrait display showing a long arched glass-roofed gallery with a person walking towards the camera. Text: a dark red rounded tag at the top reads 'Trending · Malaysia', the large dark brown heading reads 'Inner screen RM4,749', the gold line below reads 'Out-of-warranty estimate · RM469 with AppleCare+', and the dark brown strip at the foot reads 'Every corner, everywhere.', 'HiGo Corner Journal' and 'higo.shop'.

Before you tap pre-order, work out one thing: what Apple estimates it will cost to repair this phone once it breaks.

Apple Malaysia's repair price list estimates out-of-warranty damage to the iPhone Duo's inner display at RM4,749 and its outer display at RM1,799. With AppleCare+, the inner display fee is RM469. The phone goes on sale on 23 October 2026, from RM9,499 for 256GB. Apple Malaysia repair prices

What it means for you

  • The two screens are priced separately. The inner display estimate is 2.64 times the outer display estimate, and it comes to about half the 256GB starting price.
  • The most expensive item on the list is "Other damage", estimated at RM7,119, about three-quarters of the 256GB starting price (74.9%). Among the others: back glass RM909, rear camera RM1,009, battery service RM1,049. The same page puts the iPhone 18 Pro Max battery at RM589, so the Duo costs RM460 more.
  • Break it by accident and the standard warranty will not help: the one-year limited warranty covers manufacturing issues, not accidental damage, and not batteries worn down by normal use.
  • With AppleCare+, the service fees are different. The inner display fee is RM469, which is RM4,280 less than the out-of-warranty estimate. The outer display and back glass are RM139 each, and battery service is RM0. Apple's AppleCare page says that repairs for accidents such as drops and spills are unlimited.

The out-of-warranty prices are estimates: Apple says the final fee is set after inspection, tax may be added, and a delivery fee may be added if the phone has to be sent in. Apple Authorised Service Providers can set their own fees and give their own estimates.

Price and where to buy

The 256GB model starts at RM9,499, or RM395.79 a month over 24 months; the largest-capacity 2TB model starts at RM15,499. As of 19 October 2026, Apple's site says the phone is sold online only, with delivery or pick-up at an Apple Store. On the same day, Apple Malaysia listed just one store: The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur (L1.40).

Still unknown

  • What AppleCare+ costs for the Duo: the purchase page shows no price, and the AppleCare page only lists iPhone AppleCare+ from RM649 for two years, which is not a Duo price.
  • What "Other damage" covers: the price list gives only those two words.
  • How long a repair takes and whether parts are in stock: Apple's pages do not say.

Lowyat.NET reported on 19 October 2026 that a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 folding-screen replacement costs up to RM2,329. HiGo has not checked that figure with Samsung.
