Three days of gold at KLCC: 15 of 37 exhibitors sold to the public, and the bullion ATM took four booths
The opening half-day ran to ceremonies and invitation-only sessions. The weekend was the one for ordinary buyers.

Official schedule: 18–20 September 2026. Dates are from the organiser's announcement. We cannot confirm that the event is running on any particular day.
The Malaysia Gold Association (MGA) called this the country's first large-scale industry-led gold festival. Malaysia Gold Festival 2026 ran 18–20 September 2026 in Ballroom 1 & 2 on Level 3 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, 10:30 to 18:00 daily; the organiser said entry was free for registered visitors and that nobody under 18 would be admitted. Admission page What made it worth the trip wasn't the amount of gold on show — it was that the whole chain sat on one floor. Alongside the 916 and 999 jewellery, gold bars and commemorative coins, there were stands for testing equipment, safes, Ar-Rahnu and shop insurance, and one exhibitor whose business is a machine that dispenses bullion.
At a glance
- Dates: 18–20 September 2026, Friday to Sunday, 10:30–18:00 all three days
- Where in the building: Level 3, Ballroom 1 & 2, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Hall plan
- Entry: free entry, in the organiser’s words "free for all registered visitors", with registration on the official visitor page for a QR code
- Who could go: the organiser's two pages didn't agree, so here are both. The admission page said it was open to trade visitors, buyers and "members of the public aged 18 and above"; on 15 September the registration page's confirmation box called it "a business trade event", barred under-18s, and asked visitors to confirm they would not bring anyone "18 years old or below"
- What the form asked for: company name, Business Nature and I Intend To were all required, and none of the options was "general public" — the form itself was built for the trade
Highlights
- Fifteen of the 37 exhibitors sold to the public: the directory tags each exhibitor B2B or B2C, and the 15 tagged B2C are the ones it says sell to the public — Ibuy Jewellery, PG Jewel, Aurora Italia, the commemorative coin maker Jewel Jval, Bursa Gold Dinar, MASDORA, even Chubbsafes with the safes. - A machine that dispenses gold bars: Public Gold ATM took four booths on its own. By its own description it is a machine that sells physical 999.9 bullion at live market prices.
- Two lucky draws a day, 14:00 and 17:00: six sessions across the three days, all set out on the schedule. Nothing official said how you entered or what you could win. Programme
- Friday morning was ceremonies; the weekend was for browsing: the programme gave 11:10 on 18 September to the launch of the Malaysia Gold Standard (MGS), followed by a regional industry MoU signing, the Malaysian 916 Gold Cultural Showcase at 11:45 and the Malaysian Gold Fashion Showcase at 12:10. That same day's VIP lunch, afternoon roundtable and evening dinner were all marked invitation-only (the VIP tour wasn't marked either way). Saturday was given to Alif Satar's Gold Saving Journey talk and a PPZ zakat seminar, Sunday to a forum on the future of the gold ecosystem, and neither day had an invitation-only session. Programme
- Where gold gets stored and tested, all in one place: beyond the goldsmiths, the directory ran to testing equipment, safes and deposit boxes, jewellers' insurance and Ar-Rahnu (Koperasi Dagang Emas Malaysia). Normally you'd be going to four different places to ask about that lot.
A few things about those three days
- The Friday prayer break: the programme gave 13:30 to 14:45 on 18 September to Friday prayers and an intermission, with the hall staying open. The organiser said the two surau on the same level as the Grand Ballroom are for daily prayers; for Jumaat it pointed to the nearby Surau Wakaf Ahmad Dawjee Dadabhoy (also known as Surau Jumaat Bank Islam) and Asy-Syakirin Mosque. Venue and destination page
- Coming in through the tunnel: the Concourse-level tunnel from Suria KLCC is covered and air-conditioned all the way to the centre and is open 6:00–23:00 daily; from Bukit Bintang, the 1.7 km covered walkway joins it. Getting to the centre
- The venue's own rules: the organiser's dress-code graphic put slippers, singlets and shorts each inside a red circle with a line through it. The centre's entry conditions add that it can refuse anyone the management considers inappropriately attired, that smoking and e-cigarettes are not permitted, that bags may be inspected, and that outside food and drink may not be consumed inside.
