Malaysia International Craft Fair 2026: 12 days in Kuala Lumpur, five named sectors, free entry if you register
Two of the twelve days are marked as buyer days: 2 October and 5 October 2026. Jalan Conlay MRT station is right across the road from the complex, and the halls stay open until 22:00.

Official schedule: 24 September – 5 October 2026. Dates are from the organiser's announcement. We cannot confirm that the event is running on any particular day.
Malaysia International Craft Fair 2026 runs 24 September – 5 October 2026, 10:00 to 22:00 daily, at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex on Jalan Conlay (Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur in Malay). The organiser's visitor page says admission is free, and asks you to claim a complimentary visitor pass online before you come. Kraftangan Malaysia has split the whole complex into five named sectors: Sector 1 for new and micro, small and medium enterprises; Sector 2 for local and foreign traders working the export market; Sector 3 for textiles; Sector 4 given over entirely to master artisans working in front of you; and Sector 5 for traditional dishes and local delicacies from around the country. About page
At a glance
- Dates: 24 September – 5 October 2026, 12 days in all, 10:00 to 22:00 — the organiser says it opens daily
- Entry: the organiser's visitor page says admission is free, with "Free entry · open to all visitors" in the small print. Claim your complimentary visitor pass on the official registration page first; the form asks whether you are a Trade Buyer or Public and carries no ticket price or payment field
- Two editions, but not two sets of opening days: the organiser splits the run into an International Edition (24–28 September 2026, five days, one weekend included) and a Domestic Edition (24 September – 5 October 2026, 12 days). The organiser says the floor opens on all 12 days. If you want the International Edition, its last day is 28 September 2026; how the two editions divide up the floor is not stated
- Who it suits: the organiser says there are interactive, family-friendly workshops where you make a handmade souvenir to take home. No official page says what they are called, when they run or whether they cost anything
- Where: Section 63, Jalan Conlay, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, which the organiser describes as "in the heart of the city, minutes from Bukit Bintang"
- Getting there: Jalan Conlay MRT station is directly opposite the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex — the official location map reads "Jalan Conlay Station infront of Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex" — and the same map lists taxis, the HOHO bus and Grab, plus five expressways: DUKE, AKLEH, MEX, SMART and SUKE. - Driving: the map marks three parking points — Prince Court, The Royale Chulan and Badan Warisan Malaysia — and prints no rates
- Who to ask: the contact page gives exhibitor@micf.com.my and 03-2162 7459, weekdays 08:00 to 17:00, closed Saturday and Sunday. The organiser lists that address as the exhibitor channel. Contact page
Highlights
- Five sectors, each with a name — plan your route around them: the official hall plan splits the site into Sector 1 DISCOVER (new entrepreneurs and MSMEs, which the organiser says it wants to push into the market), Sector 2 CONNECT (Global Trade & Business: local makers with export potential, internationally minded local companies, and exhibitors from abroad), Sector 3 INSPIRE (TexStyle Malaysia: local textile craft, traditional and contemporary fashion side by side), Sector 4 EXPERIENCE (Living Heritage) and Sector 5 TASTE (Flavours of Malaysia: traditional dishes and iconic delicacies from across the country). If you are coming for the food, head straight to Sector 5
- The demonstrations happen at the makers' own booths: the visitor page says the complex is arranged by craft, and that demonstrations run at the booths themselves rather than in a separate demo area. Sector 4 is, in the organiser's words, "live craft production processes by experienced and highly skilled artisans". Lost on the floor? Ask at the Information Counter at the main entrance. Visitor page
- Nine programmes, all named, none timed: the events page lists the Opening Ceremony (Guest of Honour: the Prime Minister of Malaysia), the Networking Dinner (Guest of Honour: the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture), the International Sourcing Programme, Domestic & International Craft Sales, Craft Exhibitions, Craft Demonstrations, the International Fashion Show, Craft Exploration and Visitor Engagement Activities. The page notes it was updated as at 27 July 2026, and its Updates column is empty. No day or time is given for any of the nine. Events page
- The big numbers are all projections: the column on the official home page is headed "Event Projections" — total sales of more than USD 15 million, more than 100,000 expected visitors, more than 400 exhibitors (local and international), more than 20 countries represented and more than 300 buyer meetings. The visitor page separately gives more than 400 exhibitors and more than 50,000 craft products. No confirmed exhibitor list has been published. Official home page
- Two buyer days: 2 October and 5 October 2026: the buyer page calls them dedicated buyer days. Meeting slots run from 10:00 through 16:00, with a choice of 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00, and the page states that business meetings run Monday to Friday only. Buyers also get INSP one-to-one matching, four days and three nights of accommodation, ground transfers, craft factory visits around the Klang Valley (subject to availability on the ground), a translator for buyers from countries where English is not spoken (subject to availability), and an invitation to the Networking Dinner on 27 September 2026. Only Bernama has reported this
- The national news agency Bernama reported on 13 August 2026 that MICF 2026 is targeting 400 participants, made up of 300 local and 100 from more than 20 countries. Bernama attributes this to a written statement issued by Kraftangan Malaysia that day. Bernama report
- The same report says six countries will give craft demonstrations: China (jade carving), New Zealand (Maori carving), Uzbekistan (jewellery art), Sri Lanka (Beeralu lace work), Indonesia (leather art) and India (Tarkashi brass inlay); ten local craft masters and entrepreneurs will demonstrate Malaysian crafts
- The same report also lists an International Craft Talk, an International Fashion Showcase, cultural performances and interactive activities, along with traditional cooking demonstrations, a Baju Kurung and Baju Kebaya design competition, a choir competition, a creative Kompang art competition, a treasure hunt, a Malaysian Heritage Dance competition (Zapin and Caklempong), a Malaysian Heritage Singing competition, a Ratu Kebaya pageant, a Silat Seni championship and a Dikir Barat competition, all organised with strategic partners
- The report closes by saying the pre-launch was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Chiew Choon Man, at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex on 12 August 2026
- That "400 = 300 + 100" breakdown is a target in the statement, and it is worded differently from the "more than 400 (projected)" on the website. The six countries, the ten masters and all of those competitions appear nowhere on the official site
Tips
- The MRT station is at the door; drivers should sort out parking first: the official map puts Jalan Conlay station directly opposite the complex, on the same road. Drivers have those three parking points and no published rates. The same map says hotels, restaurants and malls are 2 to 10 minutes away, and the halls run to 22:00, so a late dinner is easy enough. Official location map
- Know the categories before you shop: the visitor page groups the goods into apparel (songket, batik, weaving, textiles and so on), home, garden and houseware (ceramics, wood-based furniture, wall panel products), fashion accessories (bags, jewellery, shoes), gifts and souvenirs, and hobbies and lifestyle (toys, craft DIY kits, traditional games). If you are after songket or batik, head for Sector 3
- There are seven stages and halls inside: the organiser's Jalinan Kerjasama partnership page lists Panggung Sari, Dewan Seri Utama 1, Dewan Seri Utama 2, Laman Wau Big Stage, Pentas Khemah A, Pentas Khemah B and Pentas Khemah D. Its terms say partners get those spaces from 10:00 to 22:00 for the whole run, with no charge for the space. Which programme uses which space is not stated
- Coming from out of town? The organiser has named a handling company: the visitor page says MICF 2026 has appointed Bestour MIEC (BTM) as its Official Destination Management Company to handle visitors' travel arrangements

The halls run to 22:00, so there is still time to eat afterwards. These are all on HiGo's merchant listings, within 800 metres of the complex, rated 4.6 or better with at least 200 reviews:

Check before you go
- Going for a particular fashion showcase or a particular maker's demonstration? The events page has the nine names and no times, so open it again before you set off in case anything has been added
- Bringing children for the hands-on workshops? All the organiser says is that they are family-friendly; no names, no session times, no word on cost. Ask at the Information Counter by the main entrance when you arrive
- Coming as a trade buyer? The buyer page says business meetings run Monday to Friday only and the two buyer days are 2 October and 5 October 2026, so book your slot on that page before you travel
