The upper half is the organiser's promotional image: on a pale grey marble-textured background, a row of vertical bars in shades of red runs across like a sound wave, overlaid with a few large red line-drawn flowers; at the centre is a head-and-shoulders close-up of a female singer with shoulder-length hair, pearl earrings and red lipstick. Highlights

  • Who's on stage: the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Francis Kan, with Chen Jia on vocals.
  • What the MPO says about her: Chen Jia returns as one of the foremost vocalists to capture Teresa Teng's sublime spirit and silken tone, singing these cherished songs with "stunning authenticity".
  • Short enough to bring the grandparents along: about 75 minutes in all, including a 20-minute interval.
  • Suites: RM499 or RM549 a seat, and the organiser says these include light refreshments.

Before you go

  • Who gets in: children under 8 are not admitted to the hall unless otherwise indicated. The organiser says a ticket bought by a wheelchair user includes a complimentary ticket for a companion; if you have questions about access, call the Box Office on 03 2331 7007 or email contactus@dfp.com.my.
  • Getting in and the house rules: the concert starts promptly, and latecomers are admitted only at the interval or a suitable break in the programme. If you leave the hall during the performance, you will also have to wait for the next break to get back in. Switch your phone off. No recording, and no food or drink in the hall.
  • Dress smart casual: no torn jeans, shorts, collarless T-shirts, sweatshirts, singlets, sports attire, slippers or flip-flops at any time. Backpacks, luggage and umbrellas go into the Level 1 lockers, which the organiser says are free and open from 30 minutes before the performance until 30 minutes after it ends.
  • Not announced yet: the full programme, and whether the two performances have the same songs. Artists and repertoire may also change without notice.
