RM4,999 to RM6,649, and all four come with the same 256GB — the extra money mostly buys screen and connectivity, not space.

Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S12 Series on 30 September 2026, and it goes on sale in Malaysia on Wednesday 7 October. The recommended retail prices in the press release are RM4,999 for the Tab S12+ 256GB (Wi-Fi) and RM5,999 for the Tab S12 Ultra 256GB (Wi-Fi). Both come in Gray and Silver. What stands out

  • Two screens, both 120Hz: the Ultra is 14.6 inches at 2960 × 1848 and the S12+ is 12.6 inches at 2800 × 1752. Both are Dynamic AMOLED 2X: peak brightness is 1,600 nits, and 1,000 nits in high brightness mode.
  • The S Pen is in the box: Samsung's specs list it as “S Pen (BLE not supported) In-box”. Both tablets and the included S Pen are rated IP68, and Samsung says that rating comes from a lab test — up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes — and that it doesn't advise using them at the beach or the pool.
  • Battery and charging: 11,600 mAh on the Ultra, 10,600 mAh on the S12+. Samsung says a single charge lasts up to 23 hours on the Ultra and up to 21 hours on the S12+. Wired charging is 45W (the adapter is sold separately), and 0% to 100% takes about 95 minutes.
  • Chip, memory and software: both run a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, plus a microSD slot that takes cards up to 2TB. Both ship with Android 17 and One UI 9, and Samsung says the tablets get up to seven OS upgrades and security updates, noting that availability and timing may vary by model and market.
  • Wi-Fi isn't the same on both: the Ultra has Wi-Fi 7 and the S12+ has Wi-Fi 6E. Each comes in a Wi-Fi and a 5G version, and Samsung's spec sheet lists both a physical SIM (pSIM) and an eSIM.
  • Cameras and speakers: On the back, the Ultra has a 13MP camera and an 8MP ultra wide, while the S12+ has a 13MP. Both have a 12MP ultra wide at the front, and four speakers.

What people are asking

  • Is there a pre-order? Samsung's press release only says the Galaxy Tab S12 Series goes on sale in Malaysia on Wednesday 7 October, and says nothing about pre-orders.
  • Is a charger in the box? No. A footnote says the 45W power adapter is sold separately, and that you should use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables. The tablets support up to 45W wired charging, and Samsung says 0% to 100% takes about 95 minutes.
  • What about the keyboard and the covers? A footnote says the Book Cover Keyboard Slim is sold separately. Samsung also lists the Book Cover, a Frame Cover for the Ultra only, and an anti-reflecting screen protector. In the bundled extras that run from 7 October until 8 November 2026, the keyboard and S Pen accessories are valued at up to RM1,208; Samsung's release doesn't say whether that is a gift or a discount.
  • Ultra or S12+? Screen size and weight are the biggest differences: the Ultra is 14.6 inches and 692g on Wi-Fi, while the S12+ is 12.6 inches and 553g on Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi differs too, with Wi-Fi 7 on the Ultra and Wi-Fi 6E on the S12+. Storage is the same on both, at 256GB.

Where to buy

Samsung's press release gives Wednesday 7 October as the on-sale date in Malaysia, but it doesn't name the shops that will stock the tablets, and it doesn't say what time the online store starts taking orders.

Samsung Malaysia's website keeps a separate list of Samsung Experience Stores. On the Central region page, Kuala Lumpur has Pavilion KL (Level 1, Lot 1.19.00), Suria KLCC, Mid Valley Megamall and The Exchange TRX, and Selangor has 1 Utama and Sunway Pyramid; the east coast, southern, northern and East Malaysia regions each have a page of their own. The list tells you where the Experience Stores are, not whether any of them will have the Tab S12 in stock on 7 October 2026. Call the store before you make the trip, and ask about stock and demo units.

If you're heading to Pavilion KL, plan a makan stop too. These three places from HiGo's merchant listings are all within 350 metres of Pavilion KL, rated 4.6 or higher, with at least 1,300 reviews each:

Check before you order

  • The instalment plan and the bundled extras run from 7 October until 8 November 2026, and the check-out rebate is limited to participating stores and selected payment methods
