What's in store

  • Why turquoise? PokéXciting! is the Pokémon 30th anniversary tour of five major cities across Asia, and the official page says this Pikachu wears a different colour costume in each one. Kuala Lumpur's is turquoise. For the PokéXciting! weekend at KLCC Park on 12–13 September, see our 11 September story. PokéXciting! official page
  • On the shelves: unit L3-15. The mall's store listing describes it as official merchandise, plushies and exclusive collectibles. Ombak KLCC store listing
  • Nintendo is at Ombak KLCC too: Nintendo Malaysia's site calls it Nintendo's first pop-up store in Malaysia, open from 12 September to the end of December. Nintendo says it features a wide range of Nintendo games and character merchandise, popular items from Japan, new releases, and exclusive Mario-design merchandise made for Malaysia. Nintendo Malaysia
  • Mall-wide from October: Ombak KLCC also has a separate listing, “Pokémon 30th Anniversary”, running from 1 October to 31 December 2026 “Throughout Ombak KLCC”. As of 21 September, what it involves had not been announced. Ombak KLCC event page

What people are asking

Answers as of 21 September 2026:

  • Do you still need to queue for a ticket after 14 September? Pokémon only set ticket rules for 12–14 September, and nothing had been announced for the days after. Nintendo's site lists its own ticket arrangements, with no dates attached: queue at the Level G main entrance from 06:00, tickets handed out from 08:00, and distribution ends once the daily limit is reached. Nintendo Malaysia
  • Could entry be limited when it's busy? Possibly. The official PokéXciting! page says store entry may be limited when it's crowded. PokéXciting! official page
  • Is it one queue for Pokémon and Nintendo, or two? The official pages don't say whether it's one shop or two. The mall lists both as a single event, “Pokémon Center & Nintendo POP-UP Store”, on Level 3. Ombak KLCC event page
  • Does it cost anything to get in? What do things cost? Is there a purchase limit? None of the three had been announced. The only word on quantities is that the Kuala Lumpur-edition PokéXciting! Pikachu merchandise is limited, while stocks last.
  • When do the cards go on sale? The only official line is that Pokémon TCG products were not available on 12–14 September. No sale date had been given for after that.
