iMac M6 Malaysia from RM6,499: what RM1,000 more adds
Education pricing saves RM200 to RM400; units arrive from 6 November 2026.

If you're shopping for a desktop, the iMac M6 starts from RM6,499, and paying RM1,000 more gets you a 12-core chip and two extra Thunderbolt ports.
Apple Malaysia takes pre-orders for the new 24-inch iMac with M6 from 29 October 2026: the 10-core model from RM6,499 and the 12-core model from RM7,499, with education pricing from RM6,299 and RM7,099 for the two models; units start arriving on 6 November 2026. Apple Malaysia press release

What it means for you
Both models share the same 24-inch 4.5K Retina display and the same starting configuration: 16GB memory and 256GB storage. Both come in all seven colours: blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange and silver.
The model that costs RM1,000 more adds:
- A 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU, against 10 cores each on the cheaper model.
- Four Thunderbolt ports, against two.
- Touch ID as standard on the keyboard; on the cheaper model you have to pick the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID yourself when configuring.
Two extras are not included, and you can only add them on this model: Nano-texture glass, which reduces reflections and glare in bright light, and a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port.
Which one? For a shared family computer, homework or a small business doing accounts and video calls, the screen, keyboard and everyday software do most of the work, and the two-port model is likely enough. If you plug in an external drive and other gear at once, or your desk sits by a bright window and you want the anti-glare glass, that is when the extra RM1,000 pays off.
Memory comes in 16GB, 24GB or 32GB, and storage from 256GB to 2TB.
Apple says the new iMac is up to 18 times faster than the most popular Intel-based iMac. That is Apple's own comparison, not an independent test.
What it costs and where to buy
